William R. Douglas

William R. Douglas, 82, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly, Saturday evening Aug. 29, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, Pa.

He was born in Dunkirk, June 5, 1938, son of the late Claytonand Casi (Jankowski) Douglas.

Bill retired from Dunkirk Radiator in 2000 after many years of service.He enjoyed playing and watching sports, was an avid fanof the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, along with the New York Yankees. Bill also enjoyed gardening, taking care of his lawn, and flowers. He liked animals, especially dogs, and had many in his lifetime. And in his younger years he enjoyed to fish and hunt.

Memberships include lifetime member of the First Ward Falcons Club, where for many years he was in charge of the annual picnic, and life member of the Forth Ward Falcons Club.

Surviving is his wife Alice (Jesse) Douglas, whom he married Sept. 12, 1959; two sons Tim of New York City and Gary (Trish) of Dunkirk; three grandsons: Dan of Jamestown, Andy of Nashville, Tenn., and Ryan (Amanda) Taddio of Brocton; and great granddaughter, Aubranna.Preceded in death in addition to his parents is a brother. Robert.

To honor Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
