Walter David Sobilo passed away at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Dunkirk, NY on June 27, 1941. Beloved husband of Constance (Freitas) Sobilo, his wife of 54 years.

He worked for Alumax prior to the company leaving Dunkirk. He retired in 1998 from Cliffstar. He had many skills, hobbies and talents. He was a skilled musician, playing multiple instruments including guitar. He also participated in Drum Corp. Wally was an avid huntsman. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Walter is survived by a son, Douglas (LeAnne) Sobilo of Derby, NY; two daughters Kimberlee (Gary) Sams of Silver Creek, NY and Denise (Michael) Bellanca of Buffalo, NY; 7 grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews and god children.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. and Violet June Sobilo, and his brother John Sobilo.

Walter was a dedicated father and loyal husband who put his family first. He loved to joke and was known for his famous one-liners. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by his family.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk, NY. Interment will be held in private.
