Virginia Pasierb, 92, of Sheridan, died, Monday morning, November 26,2018, at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk.
She was born July 8, 1926, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Vincent and Clara (Rybicki) Abramowicz.
A retied employee of The Fredonia Central Schools, Virginia had also helped waitress at the Kosciuszko Club and also worked with her daughter at Pat’s Catering. Virginia enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, the Buffalo Bills, and Buffalo Sabres and the Lawrence Welk and going on trips to the Casino’s and playing Bingo.
Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig, the Parish Rosary Society, Church Choir, Kosciuszko Club and Sheridan Happy Seniors.
Surviving are her children James (Dru) Pasierb, Patricia (Steve Skrzypek) Tripp, Nancy (Frank) Flitt all of Dunkirk, a brother Raymond “Lefty” (Dolores) Abramowicz of Dunkirk, grandchildren Jessica (Chris Ganey) Moore, Katie (Fred) Lemiszko, Terri (Steve) Helwig, Cheryl (Paul) Trippy, Stacy (Tim) Korzenieski all of Dunkirk, Michael (Alana) Flitt of Hamburg, Eric Flitt of Dunkirk, great-grandchildren Riley, Makayla, Hans, Oliver, Case, Matthew, Addison, Bette, Charlotte, Brayden, along with her Beloved godchild Jane Russo and her son Tony Russo Jr., and many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband of 51 years, Matthew J. Pasierb and who died August 31, 2005, sister Elizabeth “Betty” and brother-in-law Ed Pasierb, Brother Richard (Marilyn) Abramowicz, grandson Gary Tripp.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Today at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
