OBITUARY
STEPHEN P. KAUS
Stephen P. Kaus, 38, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly, Friday morning, September 9, 2016 at Home.
He was born in Dunkirk August 11, 1978, son of Paul W. and Susan J. (Kuzdzal) Kaus of Dunkirk.
A graduate of Dunkirk Senior High School class of 1996.
Steve was owner of Absolut Audio in Dunkirk.
He enjoyed collecting coins, was an avid sports fan and followed the Toronto Maple Leafs, NY
Mets, Buffalo Bills, had played hockey and liked classic cars, and was very proud of his Polish
Heritage.
Memberships include Moniuszko Club, First Ward Falcon Club, and Dom Polski Club.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his Maternal grandmother Rosalie Kuzdzal of Dunkirk, a
daughter Anna Jonas of South Carolina, sister Kelly (Michael) Dougherty of Fredonia, Niece
Brianna and Nephew Chase Dougherty of Fredonia along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and many
friends and customers.
Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bernard and Nancy Kaus, and maternal grandfather
Floyd Kuzdzal.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty
Street in Dunkirk on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Burial will
be in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials can be made to the
Lake Shore Humane Society, 431 East Chestnut Street, Dunkirk, NY 14048. A message of remembrance
