Ruben D. Gonzalez, 81, of Dunkirk passed away Wednesday evening Jan. 10, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side He was born on June 4, 1942, in Guatemala, to Jose Gonzalez and Rita (Avila) Gonzalez.
Ruben began his professional journey by earning a degree as an Accountant in Guatemala. With a solid educational foundation, he established his own accounting firm before embarking on a new chapter in America.
Upon arriving in America, Ruben felt called to serve a higher purpose and wholeheartedly embraced a new path. His deep spiritual conviction led him to attend Baptist Seminary College in Texas where he became a Pastor.
Over the years, he served at various churches across the United States, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he touched. Ruben also demonstrated exceptional leadership skills as a Church Planner wherever he was located.
Ruben also had many interests that he pursued with enthusiasm. He had an insatiable appetite for delicious food and the joy it brought to gatherings with family and friends. Passionately preached the word of God, enjoyed fishing, and was formerly a bodybuilder.
His warm and loving nature made him an exceptional father figure to his children. His intelligence and wisdom were matched only by his kindness and compassion. He had an ever-present smile that brought joy to those around him.
Survivors include Ruben's Wife of 54 years Dora (Santizo) Gonzalez; daughters Jacky (Eduardo) Reyes and Nancy (Sixto) Rosario. Grandchildren Albert Chapa, Josue Rosario, Paage Rosario and Hannah Reyes. Greatgrandchildren Cameron Skubis and Jayce Mirnik.
Preceding him are his parents Jose and Rita (Avila) Gonzalez and several brothers and sisters.
