Robert W. Lawrie, 87, of Dunkirk, died, Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
Born in Dunkirk, June 2, 1934, son of the late James and Florence (McCallister) Lawrie.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1951-54 aboard the USS Tonawanda and received the National Defense Medal. Bob retired from Al Tech Specialty Steel in Dunkirk, as a crane operator. He enjoyed his yearly vacation at Cape Cod.
Surviving are his children: Steve (Cindy) Lawrie of Dunkirk, Sheila (Dick) Sikes of Jamestown, Robert (Suzanne) Lawrie of Fredonia, Ray Lawrie of Dunkirk; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death in addition to his parents are a infant son, David; sisters: Elizabeth Kulpa and Jean Lawrie; and brothers: Phil and John Lawrie.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday from 3-5 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E. Doughty St., Dunkirk.
