Raymond F. Krystofik, 91, West Seneca, formerly of Fredonia and Dewittville, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Buffalo.
Born in Dunkirk March 9, 1931, son of the late Lawrence and Veronica (Mazurek) Krzystofik.
Veteran of the US Navy from 1948-52, Ray had toured in 22 different countries and then was held over to help during the Korean War aboard the USS Furse.
Raymond retired from Al Tech Specialty Steel.
He enjoyed hunting in his younger years but loved the outdoors, fishing and spending time on Chautauqua Lake.
Surviving are sons Raymond W. (Debbie) Krystofik of West Seneca, Chris (Terri) Krystofik of Pendle-ton, 3 grandchildren Lauren (Andrew) Issa, twins Lisa (Brendan) Nuessle, Lindsay (Adam) Penna, great grandchildren Francis, Louis, and Lucy. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in addition to parents by sisters Stella Hojna, Alice Korzen, Josephine Ratajczak, brothers Florian, Chester and Henry Krystofik.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 4-7 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E Doughty St, Dunkirk. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10 AM in St Joseph R.C. Church, Main St, Fredonia.
