Peter Komada Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024
at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, NY. He was 84 years old.
Born and raised in Dunkirk, NY. A graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School,
Bryant and Stratton College, N.C.C., and Buffalo State College with a B.S. degree in
I.T. Additionally, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. Peter worked
overseas in many countries after his discharge from his service career.
Peter retired from SUNY Fredonia where he worked as a I.T. Programmer.
He also did volunteer work for the Dunkirk Historical Society Museum.
Peter traveled the world in his lifetime and also enjoyed life with family and friends.
He is survived by sisters: Nancy (James) Kostran, Susan (Loren) Warner,
Judith Fabritius and nephew Mark Fabritius and many cousins.
Preceded by parents Peter and Harriet (Kieras) Komada Sr. and brother-in-law
Edward Fabritius and many aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Thursday from 3-6 PM at the
R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, 56 E Doughty St. A mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 a.m. at Blessed Mary Angela Church
of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American
Legion Post #62, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk, or Dunkirk Historical Museum, 513
Washington Ave., Dunkirk, NY.
