Kathleen M. VanWey, 72, of Dunkirk, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born on September 14, 1945 to the late Stanley and Helen (Worczak) Zebracki.
Kathleen was a 1959 graduate of St. Hedwig’s School and a 1963 graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig’s Church.
After high school, Kathleen began working for Great Lakes Color Printing in Dunkirk in the trucking department. While raising her family, she worked parttime for Ludes Brothers Florist. Eventually, she returned to Great Lakes Color Printing and finally retired from Path Truck Lines, Inc. in 2007.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her brother, Robert J. Zebracki, who died on April 7, 2016. Kathleen is survived by David, her husband of 53 years whom she married on October 31, 1964 in St. Hedwig’s Church. She is also survived by three sons, David Jr., Timothy (Jeannine), and Randy (Andrea) VanWey, as well as four granddaughters, Emily, Elise, Abbey, and Mia VanWey. Kathleen is further survived by her sister, Bernadette M. Zebracki.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Hedwig’s Church..
