John G. Brown

John G. “Jack” Brown, 83, of Sheridan, died peacefully, following a brief illness, Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

He was born June 19, 1936, in Lancaster, NY, one of 14 children to the late Joseph and Alice (Mosack) Brown.

Jack was retired from Carpenters Union Local No. 66, after 60 years, and had worked on many construction projects in the local area.Following his retirement, Jack still worked on projects, welding and fabricating for friends, family and local farmers.

His memberships include Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth and Sheridan VFW, he was also a past member of several other area clubs.

Surviving is his wife Patricia D. (Thompson) Brown of Sheridan, his children; David (Dena) Brown of Cleveland and Jackie Brown of Dunkirk; step-children; Lance Richard (Kylie) Kachermeyer and Stephanie Lynn (Ryan) Murphy; grandchildren; Kevin Wyatt Brown, Kelly Brown and Katie Brown along with three additional grandchildren,Sisters; Jane Fowler of Dunkirk, Pat Mendyke and Kathleen Peters both of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews also survive.Preceded in death, in addition to his parents, are his first wife Barbara (Krzyzanowski) Brown, who died December 25, 2005, son; Kevin Brown, who died January 19, 2011; sisters; Dorothy, Elizabeth, Arlene, Alice and Marylou; brothers; Robert, Joseph, William, James and George.

Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials can be made to St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery, 295 Lake Shore Drive E, Dunkirk, NY 14048.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call Friday from 1-4 p.m.
