Jerome F. "Jerry" Kubera

April 28, 1949 — January 25, 2017

Jerome F. Kubera, 67, of Dunkirk, died Wednesday evening, January 25, 2017,
at home.
He was born April 28, 1949, in Dunkirk, son of the late Frank and Irene
(Cieplinski) Kubera.
A veteran of the US Air Force from 1970-74.
Jerry was a retired employee of the Resource Center in Dunkirk and at one time
an employee of the former Kraft Foods and GE in Erie.
An accomplished cook, Jerry cooked many meals at the Moniuszko club, was the
chief cook for Hose #4 conventions, and was a 4 time winner of the Chili cook
off at the Clarion in Dunkirk.
His memberships include the Moniuszko Club, Dom Polski Club, First Ward
Falcon Club, Kosciuszko Club, Forth Ward Falcon Club, Columbus Club, WW II
Vets, Hose Company #4, Dunkirk Fireman's Exempt Club and was a member of
the Dunkirk Fire Department Fire Police and was past secretary.
Surviving are is his companion of the past 13 years Shirley Deszcz of Dunkirk, his
2 daughters Karen (Kathy Hartmann) Kubera of Erie, Stephanie Kubera of Dunkirk,
and Melanie (Brian) Weilgasz, Douglas Baldwin, Aaron (Jessica) Deszcz and Derek
Deszcz all of Dunkirk, grandchildren Zachary, Emily and Hailey Kubera of Erie, Zoe
Moreland of Dunkirk, Kaylee Neibrich, Samantha Wielgasz, brother to Lorraine Kubera,
Michael (Barbara Randall) Kubera and Cynthia (Gilbert) Uhlendorff all of Dunkirk,
K9 companions Coco and China, along with nieces, nephews, great nieces and
great nephews also survive.
Preceded in death in addition to his parents are his son Jerome F. Kubera II,
brothers Robert, Ronald and Joseph Kubera, and sister Patricia Damico.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call today from 4-7 pm at the R.
Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk with
Christian burial services to follow at 7 PM. Private burial will be held at the
convenience of the family.
Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials can be made to the Lakeshore
Humane Society, 4331 E. Chestnut Street, Dunkirk, NY 14048.
