Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Wlodarek, 69, of Dunkirk died Sunday evening (Oct. 5, 2014) at the Gowanda Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born in Dunkirk on April 10, 1945, the daughter of the late Florian "Tup" and Blanche (Miga) Wlodarek. A 1962 graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School, Jackie served in the U.S. Navy for three years. She then worked in the office at Kraft Foods in Dunkirk. In her later years, she served as a caregiver for her parents until they passed away. She was a parishioner of Blessed Mary Angela Parish and a member of the parish Fatima Society. She also belonged to the Dom Polski Club. Jackie enjoyed playing bingo and attending church festivals. She also was a New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Survivors include two brothers, Thomas (Pam) Wlodarek and Joseph Wlodarek, both of Dunkirk; her sister-in-law, Marian Wlodarek of Bowling Brook, Ill.; two nephews, Joseph Wlodarek and John Wlodarek, both of Bowling Brook; a niece, Kathy (Robert) Fulda, also of Bowling Brook; and several cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wlodarek. Relatives and friends are welcome to call today from 3-6 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at Blessed Mary Angela Parish-Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery.
