Elizabeth “Betty” Tarnowski, 86, of Dunkirk, died Sunday November 18, 2018, at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab.
She was born August 27, 1932, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Felix and Helen (Grupa) Bialaszewski.
A retired employee of the former Kraft Foods in Dunkirk. Betty enjoyed to spend time with her family, her most cherished grandchildren, and to cook, bake and watch the buffalo Bills and Sabres Play.
Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig and Kosciuszko Club.
Surviving are children Janice (Ron) Budniewski, Eugene (Jana) Tarnowski, Kenny (Nancy) Tarnowski all of Dunkirk, grandchildren Brian (Christi) Budniewski, Kelly (Tom) Arcarese, Tara (Doug) Amidon, Traci (Joe) Sword, Kristen (Yerandi) Baez, Eric Tarnowski (Brandi Ryder), great-grandchildren Zachary Budniewski, Sophia Budniewski, Brandyn Arcarese, Kayleigh Arcarese, Benjamin Amidon, Anna Amidon, siblings Shirley (Walt) Swiech, of Dunkirk, Barbara (Joe) Binko of Fredonia, Arlene(Don) Williams of Dunkirk, Robert (Lois) Bialaszewski of Silver Creek, Jim (Linda) Bialaszewski, Tom (Patty) Bialaszewski both of Dunkirk, along with many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband Edmund “Chief” Tarnowski who died January 5, 2013, brothers Norman “Garbo” Bialaszewski, Felix “Fudge” Bialaszewski, Danny Bialaszewski, sisters Rita Krystofik and Jeanne Bialaszewski.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig and Burial will be in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
