Eleanor Woloszyn

Eleanor Woloszyn, 87, of Dunkirk, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 17, 2014, fol-lowing a brief illness. She was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Stanley Pniewski, Mary (Hazinski) (Pniewski) Zientowski and Max Zien-towski. A past employee of the former Van Raalte Corporation, Eleanor retired from the former Ames Department Store in Dunkirk. Her memberships included Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig and the parish Rosary Society. Eleanor loved her church, she en-joyed cooking, the company of her family and pets as well as gardening and her flowers. Surviving are her sons, Matthew J. Woloszyn Jr., James Woloszyn, and Ronald Woloszyn, all of Dunkirk; her grandchildren, Michael (Holly Ann) Woloszyn, Jennifer Ellman, Brian Woloszyn, all of Dun-kirk; Jason (Jennifer) Woloszyn of Charlotte, NC, Kevin (Heather) Woloszyn of Jamestown; great-grand children Madison and Hanna Ellman, Matthew and Tyler Woloszyn, Jade and Amber Woloszyn, along with nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew J. Woloszyn, who died Janu-ary 6, 1993; son Dennis A. Woloszyn who died De-cember 9, 1994; and broth-er Stanley Pniewski. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery. Memorials in Eleanor's honor can be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 East Chestnut Street, Dunkirk, NY 14048
