Edward Hugh Dragon, 61, of Dunkirk, died suddenly on Thursday, November 17th from a heart attack.
Ed was born at Brooks Memorial Hospital on June 13, 1961, the son of Robert and Elaine Dragon.
He attended Dunkirk schools and then served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years, including serving aboard the USS
Sylvania during the 1983 invasion of Grenada. Ed was incredibly proud of his service to our country and
would fondly recount stories from this time.
After returning to Dunkirk, Ed worked at A. Sam & Sons in the packing department, then Fieldbrook Farms Inc,
and then with Kelly Services at the Dunkirk Purina Plant.
Ed, nicknamed “Puff” by the crew, served as a volunteer firefighter at City Hose 2 for 27 years. He was a member
of local clubs including the Columbus Club, the World War II Veterans and the Dunkirk Moose Club.
Ed is survived by his siblings, Gerald Dragon of Forestville, and Jacqueline Dragon of Burlington, VT.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dunkirk Fire Department in Ed’s memory.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring or summertime.
