Donald E. Felt

Donald E. Felt, 88, of Fredonia, formerly of Dunkirk, died Friday, November 15, 2019 at UPMCHamot Hospital in Erie.

He was born October 18, 1931, in Wesley, NY, son of the late Orlie and Florence (Birger) Felt. Don grew up in South Dayton and was a graduate of Pine Valley Schools where he played basketball and baseball.

Don worked at the former Roblin Steel in Dunkirk, and then established Felt Fruit Farm in Fredonia.

His memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish, the Parish Holy Name Society, St. Joseph Society, a former Grand Knight of The Knights of Columbus Council #929, and a 4th Degree Knight with the Cardinal Mindszenty Assembly #727 Knights of Columbus.

He was a devoted husband and father. Surviving Don is his loving wife of over 66 years Adele M. (Penkaty) Felt, who he married August 22, 1953, their children Timothy (Patricia) Felt of Milton, GA, Gerard (Michelle) Felt of Randolph, NJ, Denise (Stephen) Baxter of Binghamton, NY, Stephen (Cathy) Felt of Forestville, his sister Elizabeth McIntyre of Jamestown, grandchildren Brian Felt, Jeffrey Felt, Jacqueline (Felt) Theis, Maureen (Baxter) Robertson, Gregory Baxter, Cody Felt, Courtney Felt, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk, today from 3-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela Parish, Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will follow in St.Hyacinth’s Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Knights of Columbus Council #929 at 302 Lynx St, Dunkirk, NY, 14048.
