Dawn Alice Klocek, 56, of Dunkirk died Friday, September 4, 2015 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, following a brief illness. She was born May 23, 1959 in Dunkirk, the beloved daughter of Donald and Nola (Harrison) Klocek. She was a graduate of Dunkirk Senior High School Class of 1977, and received her Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Buffalo in 1982. Dawn was a scholar of the bible, and was a kind and generous person. She was an avid reader and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She was also a longtime fan of the Buffalo Sabres. Her memberships included the Assembly of God in Fredonia and First United Presbyterian Church in Dunkirk. Survivors include her parents; her brother, Donald "Jack" Klocek of Dunkirk; nieces, Paula Martha Ann Klocek and Kaitlin Jane Alexandria Klocek; a goddaughter, Kimberly Miller; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. A memorial service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church, 19 W. Fourth St., Dunkirk, on Saturday, October 17, at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Dunkirk Free Library. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E. Doughty St., Dunkirk.
