Cynthia "Knobby S. Bielat, 73, of Dunkirk, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, May 8, 2024 at home. Born on April 6, 1951 in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Harvey Bloss and Jeanenne (Gadewoltz) DiLorenzo.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Cindy dedicated 25 years of her life working as a supervisor for Brooks Memorial Hospital. Her strong will and determination shone through in both her professional and personal life. She was known for her infectious laughter and unwavering love for her dog, Bruno.
In her free time, Cynthia found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the kitchen as she showered love and affection for her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, attending weekly coffee meet-ups with her sisters, and camping at Cook Forest State Park.
Cynthia faced adversity with courage and resilience as she battled lung cancer for many years. Despite the challenges she encountered, she remained a pillar of strength for those around her.
Memberships include the Conservation Club.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John Hunt; her children Toby Bielat and Jessica (Michael Coyle) McGuigan; grandchildren Jackson and Sophia McGuigan; sisters Penny (Tim) Pilarski, Amy (Louie) DiPietro, Tracy Briggs, Toni Rae (Jeffrey) Benedict, April Hill; brother Nicholas (Julie Anne) DiLorenzo; brother-in-law Don Winder. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey Bloss and Jeanenne (Gadewoltz) DiLorenzo, stepfather Anthony DiLorenzo, sisters Kathleen (Late Jim) Quick and Robin Winder, and Jeanenne Gizowski.
At the request of the family, there will be no funeral services held.
