Dunkirk — Cynthia Ann Sysol, 67, a lifelong resident of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday, March 14, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Dunkirk on Jan. 22, 1954, to the late Harry (Sr.) and Sophie (Lewandowski) Sysol.
Cynthia spent most of her life working in the food service industry including nearly 15 years with FSA at SUNY Fredonia. She often cooked and catered on the side as baking and serving was her way of expressing love and gratitude. Cynthia was an avid animal lover who adored her pets.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Jane Sysol, of Wilmington, N.C., one brother, Harry (Theresa) Sysol, Jr. of Dunkirk, her three children, Jeffrey Storey, Joseph Storey, and Jill (Christopher) Krzyzanowicz all of Dunkirk, as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Sysol, and a brother, Frank Sysol, Sr.
A private memorial service will be held later this spring for the immediate family.
The family suggests memorials may be made in her name to the Lake Shore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, N.Y.14048.
