MEMORIAL UPDATE
Carol M. Aitken, 81, of Fredonia, passed away on Saturday evening. March 5, 2022 at Mercy Hospital.

She was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Fiori and Mary (Vendetti) Conti Sr.

Carol was a instructor at the ABC Immigrant School in Fredonia.

Surviving are children: Natalie Allen, Niki Alling, Harry Aitken and William (Jessica) Aitken; brother Fiore (Cindy) Conti Jr.; grandchildren: Laura Allen, Austin Allen, Frederick Kalfas III, Bless (Shamar) Brown, Ethan Aitken and Raymond Aitken; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also extended family members: Victoria Smith, Pam Sam and Raymond Naperkowski.

Preceded in addition to her parents, husband, Gary D. Aitken; grandson, Harley D. Smith; and father and mother-in-law, Harry Aitken and Geraldine Aitken.

Interment will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery Saturday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome.

A celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m., at Point Gratiot under the Main Pavilion.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call Saturday from 2-4 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E Doughty St., where Christian services will be held at 3 p.m. and a celebration of life to follow starting at 5 p.m. at the Beaver Club in Fredonia.

Private interment will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery at a later date.
