Bernard E. Mount, Jr.

Bernard Mount Jr. 66, of Jamestown NY, passed away October 22, 2026 after a long battle of cancer. He was born December 13, 1959 in Tampa FL to the parents of Bernard Mount Sr and Francis Mount.

Bernard was a beloved Father, grandparent, son, Uncle, friend of many who will be remembered for his spunky self, full of life, hardworking and someone you can always count on. He would have given anyone the shirt off of his back because that’s just the type of person he was. Throughout his life he always enjoyed working, spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. He also liked working on cars and helping people out. You could always count on him even when he didn’t have much himself. He loved taking boat rides and just cruising around.

Family was very important to Bernard. He shared his life with Michelle Knapp, the love of his life. Bernard will be remembered for all his hard work, dedication and the joy he brought to his family.

Bernard is survived by his girlfriend Michelle Knapp, His children Bernard Mount lll, Linda Mount, Lyn Grover, Bobby Mount, Brandon. Step-son Devin, Brothers Charles Eckerdt ll, Harold, Talbert Mount, Half brother Lee Mount, Sister Sharon Steinruck. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Bernard is preceded in death by His father Bernard Mount Sr, Mother Francis Mount, Sister Nora Contreras, Brothers Walley Churchwell Jr. , Harold Sowers, Great-Granddaughter Leanna Herrera.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk, NY.
