Beatrice A. Tilley (née Gens), aged 91, passed away on August 21, 2024, at Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, NY. Beatrice was born on September 20, 1932. She met and married Eugene in 1952 and together, they raised five children in Dunkirk, NY. Beatrice & Gene found great love despite setbacks in life and their love story lasted 66 years.
Beatrice dedicated many years to M. Wile as a skilled seamstress, crafting men’s suits with precision and care. In her later years, she served her community as a crossing guard, ensuring the safety of countless children.
Beatrice had a passion for crochet, creating intricate baby blankets, dolls, doilies, and an exquisite tablecloth cherished by her daughter Cheryl. Her handcrafted items remain treasured family heirlooms.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her sister Pat (Jack Rose). Children: Robin (Ron Frazita), Cheryl (Keith Grzegorzewski), Mark Tilley (Sherry), and Charles Tilley (Gloria). Grandchildren: Kelly (Eric Wilson), Amy (Ryan Mihaljevic); Jamielynn (Jamie Cornelius), Julie (Peter Hetherington); Nikalaus Tilley (Ashley), Tyler Little (Taylor); Sarah, Justin, Kyle, and Lolliath Tilley. Great-grandchildren Ayden & Evyn Cornelius, Blake & Peightyn Rzepecki, Lucas & Landon Wilson, Rylinn & Reese Mihaljevic and Levi Little. Beatrice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Eugene, her children Patricia and Eugene, as well as her siblings Ted, Rosemary, Evelyn, and Helen.
Friends and family are welcome to attend burial services on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia. A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Kosciuszko Club, 252 Nevins St, Dunkirk, NY, on September 21, 2024, at 1 pm. Arrangements by R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chautauqua County Office of the Aging, Alzheimer's Association, or Westfield Memorial Hospital, honoring Beatrice’s memory.
