Barbara A. Szwejbka, 54, of Dunkirk, died, Friday morning, January 27, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Brooks Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dunkirk, April 28, 1962, daughter of the late Robert and Minerva (Dorler) Kachermeyer. A past employee of Cott Beverage in Dunkirk. Barb enjoyedtime with her family, friends, camping, roller skating and dancing. Her memberships include Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club, and Moose Lodge in Dunkirk. Harriger all of Dunkirk, grandchildren Jasilyn Echevarria, Hayden Chase, Demean Reid, Charles Reid III, Donald Bloss, Peter Bloss, sisters Faith (Henry) DiLorenzo of Dunkirk, Mary Bigelow of Fredonia, brothers Jack (Pam) Kachermeyer of Jamestown, Bob (Joan Martell) Kachermeyer of Dunkirk, Dick (Wendy) Kachermeyer of Brocton, Jim Kackermeyer of Fredonia, along with nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents are her husband Edmund "Edziu" Szwejbka, who died July 9, 2006, and her sister Joyce Burns, and K9 companion Precious "P". A memorial service, celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
