Rose A. Gawronski, 97, of Dunkirk, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab.She was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Albert and. Catherine (Pietras) Dudek.

A graduate of St. Hyacinth’s School and Dunkirk High School. Rose was a retired employee of the former Van Raalte Corporation in Dunkirk, where she was an instructor for many years.

Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Parish Church of St. Hyacinth, where she attended regularly, the Parish Rosary Society, the 39 Club, Dessert Card Party and various activities at the parish, as in the Lawn Fete, and more.

A friend to all, Rose loved to cook, bake and would regularly make cookies for the neighborhood children and anyone in need, especially stuck at home not feeling well. She also enjoyed to crochet, make ceramics.Survivors include nieces, nephews and many friends.

She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Edmund Gawronski of 39 years, whom she married Oct. 24. 1959 and who died May 29, 1998; brothers: Joseph, Stanley, John and Harry Dudek; sisters Stella Stahura, Victoria Purzycki, Mary Halasinski and Agnes Dudek.

Following the guidelines and protocols administered by the governor of New York, relatives and friends may call today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E. Doughty St.Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a,m, in Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
