Richard A. Gaszynski

Richard A. Gaszynski, 63, of Dunkirk, formerly of Fredonia, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 16, 2014, at home in Dunkirk. He was born in Dunkirk on March 26, 1951, son of the late Chester and Julia (Przytula) Gaszynski. A graduate of Fredonia High School, Richard had attended college and received an associate's degree. He was a past employee of Cliffstar and had helped with the family grape farm in Fredonia. In the past, he had worked for Gene's Aluminum Siding. Surviving are his sister, Joan (the late Michael) Grupa of Dunkirk; brother Ralph (Linda) Gaszynski of Fredonia; niece Julie (James) Symack of Cheektowaga; nephews Kevin, Mark Grupa of Dunkirk, Neil Grupa, Scott Zachary; and great nieces and great nephews also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gaszynski; niece Michelle Dean and nephews Ralph Gaszynski and Kyle Gunn. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Richard's memory can be made to St. Hedwig's Cemetery, 324 Townsend Street, Dunkirk, NY. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.
