Mildred D. Fafinski

Mildred D. Fafinski, 96, of Dunkirk, died May 27, 2020, at the Chautauqua County Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Dunkirk, N.Y., Mildred was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Michalak) Fafinski.

A lifelong resident, Mildred graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1942 and was employed at VanRaalte Co. until she became disabled. Mildred was a lifelong parishioner of Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St Hedwig. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and visiting with friends and family.

Survivors include nephew, Joseph (Judith) Piwowarski; grandnieces Lisa (Dan) Meaney and Lori (Ted) Isham; great-nieces: Sarah Meaney and Claire Isham; and great-nephew Calvin Isham.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Adele Piwowarski; niece, Geraldine Saletta Hahn; and Godson, Marty Saletta.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
