Charmaine Marie (Komada) Christopher

Charmaine Marie (Komada) Christopher, 56, of Dunkirk, died Sunday, October 18, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family, following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born April 4, 1959, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Schnider) Komada. A graduate of Dunkirk Senior High School and had also attended Jamestown Community College. Retired from Nestle Purina, she had at one time worked at Al Tech Speciality Steel, M. Wile Corporation and Great Lakes Color Printing. Char was a unique person who loved to help other people and had volunteered to take on the responsibilities to organize and chair fundraising events for anyone in need. Her memberships include Dom Polski Club and Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club. Surviving are her companion Edward Morey of Dunkirk, her children Nathan Christopher of Kansas, Tanya (Doug) Cody of Dunkirk, Courtney Christopher of North Carolina, Ian Christopher of Dunkirk, brothers Edward Komada of Texas, Thomas (Linda) Komada of Arizona, nieces and nephews, along with many friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk. Private Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
